Mini summer clothes haul

The weather has been sooo nice here in Nottingham recently. I really wasn't prepared, as all my summer clothes are back home in Birmingham. So instead of asking my boyfriend to bring some of my summer clothes with him when he comes up tomorrow, I obviously had to go & buy some more! Obviously :)

I didn't plan on abusing my debit card, but somehow it just happened! I figured after finishing my exams I was allowed a treat...?

So here's what I bought...

River Island at £18. It's suppose to be a beige colour, but I think it has a peachy tint too :) I think this top could really be casual or dressed up for a night out. The back of the vest is quiet thin material and the front has little holes in, great for summer!

Miss Selfridge at £22. This vest is from their Barbie collection, as you can see! It's a long baggy style vest & the material is really thin. Also great for the hot weather!

River Island at £19.99. Its a flowery playsuit :) I think this garment could also be worn casual or dressed up with heels, a clutch & some jewellery for a night out. They didn't actually have my size, only the size up. It looked alright on though & it was nice & airy.

River Island at £22. I think this is the favourite item I bought. I have NEVER owned a maxi dress! Being 5ft3 they always drowned me. Buttt, this dress is classed as a 'midi dress', meaning it falls at mid calf, so it was perfect for me :) I loveeeeeeee the strings too! Apologies that it's so creased, it was in the shopping bag all day.

Over the weekend I also bought a skirt from Bank for £25. I'd show you a photo but I wore it out Saturday night & appear to have dropped something down it. Oops! Here's a picture from the Bank website tho...

Soo, all-in-all a successful shopping trip! A very rare occurrence for me. What are your favourite summer styles?

Completely irrelevant to clothing, buttt I am celebrating my birthday (verrrry early) tomorrow with a Barbie fancy dress party! Hahaa, too cool ;) Just been prepared some vodka jelly I thought I'd share with you!
 Amazing!

I hope you all had a good weekend :)

Gradient nails

I've seen sooo many posts from different blogs talking about gradient nails, or ombre nails. But, I didn't get chance to have my own attempt because I was too busy revising.

Buttt, after finishing uni Friday, I had my first attempt at gradient nails Saturday! Let me know what you think.

As a base coat I used Barry M in  Matt White, then for gradient itself I used (from top of nail to bottom) Rimmel 60 Seconds in Rapid Ruby, Rimmel 60 Seconds in Portobello Pink and Barry M in Baby Pink.

Have you tried gradient nails? What colours do you think work best?

I've FINISHEDDDD!

It feels soooo weird!! I had the last exam of my uni finals on Friday & now I have my life back. Yayyy :) Literally don't know what to do with myself, & when I do do something I start feeling guilty that I'm not revising... then I realise I don't need to! Such a good feeling :) & fingers crossed I'll be graduating in the summer!

Soo, what have I been up to since? Well, when we all finished the exam on Friday we opened up a bottle of champers (or 2!) outside & had a little toast. Cheesy I know ;) Then we went for a few more at the SU, came home to a little BBQ & went out for a friends 21st.

This is me & one of my housemates (who also does Biomedical Science) having a toast!

Then on Saturday after going for a cracking fry up, I went into town & then out again on the evening for another friends 21st! & now here I am, hanging in bed. Whoop :)

I don't really consider myself a fashionable person but I'll upload the outfits I wore for my outings :)

Please excuse the posey picture at the bottom :P My boyfriend is away training with the Marines & he asked me to send a picture...

So now I'm finished, & officially unemployed, hopefully I'll have more time to do posts! :)

Hope you've all had a good weekend too!

Happy Birthday Glossy Box!

Today I received my 1st ever Glossy Box, of which was their 1st anniversary box :)

I received an email this morning saying my box had been dispatched & to expect it within the next few days, but a lovely man brought it to my door this afternoon! Very happy with that :) Whilst I was waiting for the box to arrive (I guessed it might arrive early due to posts on their Facebook page), I saw a LOT of comments of from 'disappointed' customers. I'm not really sure what they were expecting in their box, but I was very happy with mine.

So it arrived in this gorgggeous packaging: a pale pink box, with patterned tissue paper and a ribbon that read 'Anniversary Box'.
I only received it today so I haven't been able to give all of the products a try but I'll just give you an overview of what I got...

(Please excuse the picture... I didn't realise at the time but you could see me gorming in the mirror. I blacked it out :P)

  • Summer rising bath & shower gel by Noble Isle. I was really hoping that my box would include shower gel of sort, because I'm too busy revising lately to go shopping & I was running low. Ooh, my life sucks right now :( Anyway... It's silly to say that a shower gel smells fresh & clean. But, yes.. it smells so fresh & clean. The scent of mine was 'Cornish Hedgerows'.
  • Rehydrating rose daily moisture by Neal's Yard Remedies. If you like the smell of roses then you'd love this product. I'm not sure what I think though, I do like the smell, but I don't think it's as nice as other moisturisers I've tried. It a perfect size for my hand bag & is made of completely organic ingredients too!
  • False eyelashes in style B144 by Eldora. As I said in my SSB review I loveee eyelashes! But, I'm not sure what I think of these ones. I don't particularly like the packaging, it looks quite cheap? & the eyelashes themselves are quite drastic. Maybe they'l look better on tho. I'm having a Barbie fancy dress party next week so maybe I could wear them then..
  • Lasting colour gel eyeliner by Collection. Collection, meaning Collection 2000. Apparently they are trying to re-band them selves, maybe a bit more up market? But anyway, I was really happy to receive this as I've been wanting to try a gel eyeliner for a while. I was surprised by the application, as I thought it would be much harder then it is. I'm glad I received brown too, as I've seen some other subscribers that received colours such as yellow & green (?!).
  • 2 x Lolita Lempicka perfume samples. THESE ARE GORGEOUS! They smell sooo nice. I received L'Eau en Blanc & Eau de Parfum, both of which are so so nice. I will definitely be buying one of these when I've finished with my Marc Jacobs Daisy.
  • Birthday extras. I also received a balloon & a compact mirror. The balloon (seen in the 2nd picture) has brightened up my desk :) & the compact mirror will serve good purpose in my handbag.
Soo, what do you think of this months GlossyBox?? I really don't know what people are complaining about :S Maybe it's because I'm a new customer, excited like a little puppy. Or maybe not..

:)

Bad blogger.

I am definitely slacked on the blogging front! But not through no choice of my own. I'm currently doing my final years for my Biomedical Science degree, therefore, I have noooo life :(

Thankfully, they finish on Friday.

My social life (& nail varnish) will be restored & I promise to write more posts! :)

She Said Beauty box: May

Okay, so I know I am realllly late in writing about the May She Said Beauty box. However, I only signed up last week so I received the box really late compared to everybody else. I thought I'd still do a post on it though, as it's my first ever beauty box (yayyy!).

Today has been horrible! I had my a 3 hour exam :/ 1 of 4, for my final year. Urghh. So it was really nice to come home to my beauty box after that stress.

The She Said Beauty box arrived in a very gorgeous hot pink box, containing....

Taaaa-daa!

The box is a little scuffed on the light hand side, but I don't mind - that happens. I will definitely be keeping the box, its a lovely colour & will be great for storing nails varnishes, etc.

So, inside the box. What did I get?

Beautifulll packaging, I love the tissue paper and bow :) Anyways, with the box I received a 40% off voucher for Kim Kardashian's perfume, from her fragrance website, & a little leaflet with information of the products I received.

Here's what was inside the box...
I haven't really had chance to use all of the products yet, so I'll do a quick over view :)

  • Certified vegan lip whip by Inika. This product was full size, usually costing £14.30, which already makes the box great value for money. I received it in peach, which isn't to my usual taste. I think over a nice pink lip stick it will look great. The texture is of the best lip gloss I've ever had, it isn't sticky at all & my hair hasn't yet glued it's self to my lips!
  • False lashes by The Vintage Cosmetic Company. I loveeeeeee eyelashes, so am very happy I received these. I was sent 'Connie'. They are quite natural looking, but I'm sure they'll boost the volume and length of my natural lashes. After I've finished my exams these will definitely accompany me on a few nights out.
  • SPF 15 with tan accelerator by Green People. With summer around the corner this a great product. I can only hope we get some sun! The product also claims to speed up your tan by 25% :) Bonus!
  • Eau De Parfum by Kim Kardashian. The fragrance isn't my favourite, but it's still nice. It comes in a little 3ml roller ball sample, which is so easy for application. I'll definitely be putting this in my bag!
  • Lotus Soap Trio by Natio. I haven't used an actual bar of soap in so long, I'm actually excited to use this. I haven't opened it yet as I'm moving back home in a couple of weeks and because it's quite a big bar I know I won't use it by the time it comes to packing up. I received 'white locus' & it smells so nice & fresh.
  • The last product was a bonus 3 product sample gift by Snowberry. I haven't had chance to use these yet, so I can't comment too much. The samples are quite small so I don't think it really gives you chance to experience the benefits of the creams. They were bonus gifts though so I'm not complaining :) I received nourishing rich day cream, bright defence night cream and intensive renewal face serum.
So, overall I am really happy with my first She Said Beauty box :) I will definitely make use of all the products, my favourite being the eyelashes! I look forward to my June beauty box :)

Soap & Glory: Heel Genius review

I am guilty of wearing rubbish flat shoes, resulting in hard cracked heels. I hate this! Especially during the summer, when I'm wearing sandals & open heels. So, with the summer soon approaching I was in need of a new foot cream. After reading soo many positive reviews on Soap & Glory's Heel Genius I bought myself my first batch from Boots for £5.50.

First impressions of the product were great. It has a fresh smell and a blue-ish tint, which is a nice change from the usual creamy pink. For the first week of using this product I applied a generous amount all over my feet each night; making sure to massage it into my problem areas (the heels!). When applying the cream it soothes your feet with a cooling sensation; I'm guessing this is due to the methanol it contains. I then slipped on some cotton socks and went to bed. After the first week I applied the foot cream 2-3 times a week. Make sure to rub any excess into your hands and cuticles, it works a treat ;)

I have been using the product for about 3 weeks now & can see a massive difference! My feet are much smoother and heels aren't as hard or cracked (yayy)! I love the product just as much as the packaging. I'll deffo be buying more when I've ran out.

& to top it all off the product is only tested on humans. Bunnies don't have cracked heels, no need!

Bring on the summer :)

My Graze box :)

For those that have never heard of Graze before, it is basically a weekly subscription of little healthy snacks! Each week you are sent four different treats; chosen for you from a range of foods, such as freshly baked bread and cake, seeds, dried fruit, olives etc. A subscription of Graze is just £3.79 a week (including post & packaging). Graze is the perfect size, allowing it to fit through the majority of letterboxes. No waiting for post men & having to pick up missed parcels!

You don't get to chose which snacks are sent to you, it's all part of the surprise! :) Graze works by a rating process. After you have eaten the snacks you were sent you can rate them on the Graze website: like, love or bin. If you chose to bin a snack you won't be sent it again, so you'll never get any nasty surprises :) If you like a snack they'll send it you every now & again if you love a snack they send it more often. Sometimes you also get the option of 'send soon'. I have pressed send soon many times & the snack has often arrived in the next box.

The delivery of Graze boxes are great! I have never received a late box & each week have been given very yummy treats! They also have a great feature where you can book a holiday. This allows you to put your holiday dates into the Graze calender & they'll be sure not to send you any boxes whilst your away soaking up the sun!

I look forward to receiving my box every Tuesday. I actually got one through the post today, which is going to assist me nicely whilst I'm revising! Below are picture of the Graze box I received today. If you too are interested in Graze go to www.graze.com and use the code 'XCZ8MTLD' to recieve a free box. Graze allow you to cancel your subscription at any point.

In this week box I received-

  • Mississippi BBQ pistachios: Smoked BBQ pistachios. (Sent with send soon).
  • Cheddar, red onion & chutney: West country cheddar, red onion and chutney focaccia.
  • Boston baguettes: Boston baguettes with a BBQ relish. (Sent with send soon).
  • Korean chilli rice crackers: Crunchy rice crackers with spicy chilli. (Sent with send soon).
I am really happy with my box this week :) I usually receive a couple of the sweet treats in my box. But I wanted to try more of the savoury snacks, so I pressed send soon on quite a few items & as you can see three of my four snacks were sent with send soon. Revision will now be that little more bearable. :)

Thank you for reading,

My first post!

Hi!

I'm new to the whole blogging scene, so bear with me :)

Okay, so I plan on blogging about beauty and fashion, with a little bit of everything else mixed in too. My favourites are make up, nail products and skin care.

I have recently signed up to a subscription of monthly beauty boxes with Glossy Box & She Said Beauty. Although I do feel it's a bit of a pinch on the my little student purse I wanted to order both boxes so I could compare the two & chose which I prefer. Hopefully I have signed up early enough in the month to receive May beauty boxes :) I'll review these boxes on here also.

I'm going to try & familiarise myself with blogger.com a little more & then it's off to bed. Early start in the morning - Saturday morning spinning. Kill me now.

Night guys.
